FS Card is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to take an important role in the Legal/Compliance department. FS Card is a Washington, DC - based early stage credit card company founded by a team of industry experts and senior executives. The company is designed to move small dollar loan customers into more affordable, transparent and sustainable credit products. In the wake of CARD Act reforms, which eliminated a number of problematic credit card industry practices, we believe that credit cards offer the most efficient and scalable answer to stakeholders' calls for change. FS Card is in the market now with the Build Card. FS Card's Legal/Compliance team manages all aspects of FS Card's corporate structure and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role demands organization, critical thinking, and attention to detail. The qualified candidate will report to the General Counsel and will work 40 hours per week in our Washington, DC office. In 2017, FS Card was named as one of the top 40 trending companies in the DC area. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and organize all aspects of contract execution and fulfillment Assist with all corporate filings, including registrations, franchise taxes and state licenses Maintain all corporate governance documents including Board materials and shareholder notices Manage closing documents and binders for all corporate deals Assist with ongoing compliance monitoring and documentation Support the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer with administrative items such as maintaining and organizing legal and compliance databases, files and documents REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree in a related discipline such as Economics, Legal Studies or Political Science Three to five years of experience in a paralegal role handling corporate deals and documents Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) Strong analytical, problem-solving and research acumen Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of management Creative, self-motivated and results-focused Please apply by submitting resume to [email removed] with "Corporate Paralegal" in the subject line.
