Desktop Engineer Washington DC (SE) Apex Systems is seeking a senior level Desktop Engineer to support a Federal client in the Washington DC Metro area. The job location is in SE DC near Nationals Stadium. Eligible candidates must be able to meet client background, credit, and other screening requirements. Job Description Responsibilities and duties Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company's desktop environment Collaborate with existing vendors to evaluate the new technology that is available and make recommendations to management on using that technology Consult with IT support and design departments to make sure that network expansion projects are in line with the company's plans Monitor the performance of the company's desktop infrastructure and make suggestions for improving efficiency Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications to see if they will solve desktop issues Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or similar field MCDST certification Qualifications Skills 5+ years' desktop engineering experience Demonstrated ability in desktop and systems design Proven ability to offer high level desktop support in an enterprise environment Operating systems Windows 7 Enterprise Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Skills Manage user accounts with Active Directory Troubleshoot hardware/software Troubleshoot network connectivity Hardware/software installation Remote access Phone and e-mail support Creating computer images Computer roll out Software Active Directory Microsoft SCCM/SCOM/SCSM Microsoft Office suite Cisco AnyConnect Symantec Endpoint Protection EEO Employer Apex is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
