What You Will Do:Reports directly to the Ultrasound Clinical Supervisor and Manager of Radiology Services. No direct supervision; requires a complete "self starter"; monitoring schedule, following imaging protocols necessary to obtain desired results. Functions under the direction of the Radiology Director and the Medical Director of the Radiology Department. Demonstrates the ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of patients and employees, and the confidentiality of all hospital documents.Exhibits professional demeanor at all times, handling stressful situations effectively. Is helpful and courteous to physicians, patients, visitors and co-workers, both in person and on phone.Prioritizes work responsibilities and manages multiple demands.Demonstrates an awareness of self responsibility and accountability for own professional practices.Seeks validation of knowledge base, skill level and decision making as necessary and assertively seeks guidance in areas of question.Works with students in a manner that is supportive of his/her educational process.Participates actively in staff development activities for Department of Radiology personnel.Demonstrates self-directed learning and participation in continuing education to meet own professional development needs.Participates in development and attainment of Department of Radiology goals.Participates in peer review and department quality improvement activities.Participates in standards development.Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills as a method of sound decision making. Demonstrates effective communication methods and skills, using line of authority appropriately.Attends hospital and departmental meetings as required or assigned.What You Need to Be Successful:High school diploma, or equivalent required.Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound educational program required.RDMS certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers required, or must successfully complete RDMS certification within two-years of date of hire, or transfer into position.Experience in vascular sonography desired.Current BLS certification, or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
