Vencore is an AA/EEO Employer - Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled Responsibilities: Software Asset Management (SAM) Engineers document and update SAM business process flows, document and maintain NGA's Software Baseline, recommend commercial software solutions in response to customer requirements, work with NGA entities when they are selecting a suite of software that meets their objective, and ensure compliance with NGA's preferred software baseline. The SAM System Engineer's work involves developing cost analysis for software acquisition and support of contract renegotiation, conducting trade studies of deployment strategies and making recommendations to SAM senior management. As a SAM System Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for the following duties:Provide software use metrics in support of license compliance determination, internal audits, and in response to external vendor and congressionally directed audits.Support Government engineers in identifying and specifying Software inventory, license, and cost impacts from IRQs, ECPs and RFCsProvide technical software license requirement analysis of multiple software producers with multiple software productsProvide Technical expertise support to Government contract negotiation teamsProvide subject matter expertise for assigned commercial software producersAnalyze software consolidation and re-use options making recommendations on near and long term approachesSupport the Asset Managers with technical expertiseReceive, and analyze ISP software reports and make recommendations for efficient use of software licenses and applications.Oversee the development, integration, and maintenance of Software Asset Management Tools. Required Qualifications: BS Degree in any field.Minimum of 11+ full years of experience in related field, with 2 years of recent agency experience.Minimum of 1 year experience directly working with NGA/IC/DoD or commercial Software Asset ManagementPossess or be willing to obtain the IAITAM Certified Software Asset Manager certification.Customer-service and goal oriented.Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Office, Visio, SharePoint and Excel.Demonstrated experience in relational data base design and administrationAbility to work independently and as a team member under tight deadlines with changing priorities.Ability to identify technical issues and communicate impacts to the Government points of contact.Experience in strategic software planning, PMO software activities, and problem resolution.Experience with DOD / IC policies, regulation, instructions.TS/SCI with CI Poly.Desired Qualifications:B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an IT-related field.M.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.Understanding of the DoD or IC Acquisition processes.Understanding of DoD or IC CM processes.Demonstrated technical representation in software contract negotiations.Demonstrated understanding of the geospatial intelligence mission and its contributions to the Intelligence Community.
