JOB SUMMARY:

THIS A PERMANENT, PRIVATE FUNDED POSITION WHICH DOES NOT CONFER COMPETITIVE FEDERAL STATUS TO THE INCUMBENT. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR SOME FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS, INCLUDING HEALTH INSURANCE, LIFE INSURANCE, RETIREMENT AND SICK/ANNUAL LEAVE ACCRUAL.

This position is in the Media Productions Department, Deputy Directo's Office to provide videographic services for the National Gallery of Art. Activities take place in multiple locations in and around the Gallery, weekend work is required.

  • Duties require walking between program areas and sitting long periods while operating audivisual equipment. Occasionally the employee is required to lift equipment weighing up to forty pounds.

    Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for GS-1071-9.Specialized experience is at least one year of experience,equivalent in responsibility to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience in the field of videography in a museum or cultural heritage institution. Experience in capture of live events, short films about art and artists, skills in editing video, and media management.

    Candidates must reflect in their submitted USAJOBS resumes the possession of this specialized experience. If their resumes do not include such specialized experience, they will be ineligible for this position.

    Those applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be evaluated against these factors to determine the best-qualified candidates:
    1. Skill in operation of capture systems, and configuration of capture systems
    2. Ability to edit captured material and meet delivery deadlines
    3. Knowledge of administrative duties and media management
