Job DescriptionDewberry is currently seeking a full time Site Civil Engineer in our Gainesville, VA office. The Project Engineer will perform a variety of civil engineering functions in support of a growing, multi-disciplinary group. The Engineer must be flexible, technologically savvy and client focused. This position requires at least two years of experience in civil design of land development activities including: design of grading, storm water management, soil erosion & sediment control, public and private roadways, storm drainage and water & sewer design. Individual may also conduct permitting and code research, write specifications, and prepare and process permit applications. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and qualified individual with a proven track record of Site/Civil and Land Development design and execution of Residential and Commercial Development. The work required by the Site Civil Engineer is diverse and ranges from general civil engineering duties to technical work that requires strong capabilities in AutoCAD, [Carlson Civil Suite] Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MS Excel, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Adobe Acrobat. The Engineer will also be required to learn and become proficient in Dewberry engineering practices and standards, and other Dewberry-specific software programs.
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. 2 - 5 years of experience directly related to design and construction of site/civil land development projects in the Northern VA / DC Metro area.Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam is preferredSupports Project Managers and management.Responsible for the project design elements.Meets project and client deadlines.Works in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.Prepares graphics, exhibits, and site/civil construction plans.Reviews design work and site construction plans.Solid oral and written communication skills, along with a desire to work in a team Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and agency review staff.Composes technical reports, memorandums and other written communication such as email.Handles multiple concurrent projects.
