Join us at our Alexandria, Virginia office for an excellent opportunity to handle a variety of intellectual property matters by supporting attorneys in the areas of patent prosecution, litigation, and trademark law.

We are looking for a highly skilled patent prosecution secretary with a minimum of three years of experience with U.S. patent prosecution.  You will be supporting a patent attorney and handling administrative matters related to the preparation, filing and prosecution of U.S patent applications. We seek candidates experienced with electronic filing at the USPTO, double docketing of incoming USPTO mail, and assisting a patent attorney with managing docketed deadlines.  The position requires knowledge of USPTO forms for filing of new applications, recording assignments, preparing and filing responses to Office Actions, etc. The position also involves corresponding with clients, opening and maintaining files, and administrative matters related to preparation of opinions.  The position also involves providing administrative support including scheduling meetings, responding to correspondence, and making travel arrangements. 

Litigation experience a plus. The professional we seek must be a positive and versatile self-starter with strong teamwork skills and the ability to coordinate efforts between the Alexandria office and headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The professional must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, highly accurate, deadline-driven, have strong computer skills, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
