Job DescriptionLong Roofing is seeking a temporary Human Resources specialist to support the Human Resources functions on an interim basis. We are a growing home improvement company based in Beltsville, MD and operating in multiple states. This person will handle all day to day HR operations as well as all strategic functions to support employees. This position may lead to permanent placement.Responsibilities: Key duties of the Human Resources Generalist include, but are not limited to:Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotionsDevelop, recommend, and maintain personnel related policies and procedures including handbooks, performance evaluation forms, and related documentationManage the recruiter for employee selection and placement processes and completing employee background checksManage payroll and benefits administrationPlan and coordinate the employee new hire orientation processEnsure compliance with federal and state employment lawsServe as a link between management and employees by addressing employee relations issuesConduct exit interviews and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completedPosition Qualifications:Experience implementing HR programs and policies, recruiting and staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training, health and safety programsStrong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsProficient in using Microsoft Office softwareBA degree or BA/Human ResourcesPHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP Certifications preferred5 years Human Resource Generalist experience3 years minimum experience processing payroll using QuickBooksExperience reporting to the Executive Officer and ControllerUp to date with first aid and defibrillator certification or willing to attend trainingAll candidates must pass a background check and drug testLong Fence and Home and Long Roofing are Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants regardless of race, gender, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status or other classification protected by lawCompany DescriptionHome Improvement Retailer
