JOB SUMMARY:

The selectee for this position will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Department of the Navy of Navy Systems Management Activity.

  • Requirements:

    All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

    Prior to reporting for duty, the incumbent must be granted a current Top Secret security clearance based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), and be favorably adjudicated for access to SCI. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

    Prior to reporting for duty, the incumbent must be approved for Presidential Support Duty (PSD) in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (PSD Category II, minimum). Prior to selection, the applicant must be pre-screened for PSD suitability.

    Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activity/command.

    Relocation incentives may be authorized.

    This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

    In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Advises on techniques, plans, and methods for enhancing efficiency of security programs associated with the protection of sensitive program information; 2) Implements national level guidance and command policies for major security programs associated with the protection of sensitive program information; 3) Review and report findings of personnel investigations to identify the presence or absence of derogatory information and the impact of various types of derogatory information on the granting, denying, or revoking of security clearances.
