Position Summary The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will report to the Regional Director of Early Intervention Services and work with a team of professionals and parents to foster independence, positive social relationships and engagement in daily routines for children receiving applied behavior analysis (ABA) services. The BCBA functions as an integral member of the team which includes the family, service coordinator and other therapy providers. The BCBA, as a member of the team provides information regarding behavior and learning and participates in the design and implementation (directly or through consultation) of interventions that are coordinated within the overall Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). The BCBA will be responsible for performing a variety of operational, therapeutic and regulatory duties. Operational Duties Assist in hiring, training, supervising and assessing ABA therapists. Coordinate therapists' schedules and caseload assignments and provide ABA coverage as needed. Provide vision and leadership to a team of ABA therapists and ensure that they have the professional development, training and resources necessary to deliver high-quality services. Provide training and supervision for staff pursuing Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification and assist RBTs in maintenance of their certification. Under the guidance of the Regional Director of Early Intervention Services and with input from the child development Center Directors and appropriate staff, develop and maintain a parent education, communications and engagement strategy. Assist with evaluation/assessment of children (including goal setting, data collection and monitoring) and reporting. Under the guidance of the Regional Director of Early Intervention Services and with input from the child development Center Directors, work to enhance, market, expand, strengthen and assess the early intervention services across the region. Other duties and assigned Therapeutic Care and Management Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of delivery processes, protocols and procedures. Provide support and services to infants/toddlers and young children with disabilities and delays and their families/caregivers/teachers so that they may help the child grow and develop. Embed supports and services within learning opportunities that exist in the child's typical routines and within the home and community activities and/or early education programs. Provide direct services (ABA, parent coaching) for children and their families as outlined in the IFSP Assist with screenings, assessments, progress and referral information using established evaluation procedures, assessments, classroom observations, and interviews. Develop and provide training and coaching for family members and staff around incorporating new skills and/or techniques into daily routines and activities in the classroom and home settings. Collaborate and coordinate with parents/caregivers, physicians, case management professionals and others in order to provide the best care to children and their families on an as needed basis. Provides supports and services focused on the family and child's transition from Easter Seals. Assist with credentialing with insurance/Medicaid organizations. Ensure all ABA notes/progress notes, evaluations are in compliance with payer guidelines. Liaise with other Easter Seals employees around topics that are pertinent to the Centers and/or organization (eg, communications, branding, billing, training, funding). Other duties and assigned. Regulatory Duties Comply with privacy laws and requirements under HIPAA and FERPA regulations and understand the consequences of non-compliance. Record and maintain all client progress reports and documentation, in a timely, accurate manner and in compliance with agency as well as governmental rules and regulations. Attend trainings sponsored by local early intervention agency. Follow all safety procedures as required by organization policy and procedure and understand the consequences of non-compliance. Comply with insurance and Medicaid regulations and authorizations for billing and demonstrate appropriate use and knowledge of CPT codes. Maintain appropriate certification and licensure of job qualifications. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Master's Degree in Behavior analysis, Education, Human Services, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university. Current certificate as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst as awarded by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Certification in CPR and first aid required. At least 5 years of professional experience working with children diagnosed with ASD; at least 3 years of experience supervising staff. Familiarity with providing services within an inclusive center and knowledge of child development (birth to five) a plus. Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills; ability to digest and distill complex subjects into clear messages. Experience working with diverse audiences. Physical demands: Must be able to engage with children (ie, sitting on the floor, bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, running, etc.). Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
