You are the primary deputy to our Chief Communications & Engagement Officer (CC&EO) who will collaborate with leadership and anticipate the direction of our business and industry. Although you're a strong and strategic leadership voice, you're also willing to roll up your sleeves and dig in to get things done.The VP, Communication & Engagement will work side-by-side with the CC&EO to build and lead a dynamic team focused on internal and external communications, events, stakeholder engagement and all facets of Companys corporate brand, including areas like inclusion, diversity and social impact. The VP will have day-to-day management responsibility over the internal and external communications teams. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:Direct Management: You will directly manage a team of senior leaders who are responsible for the corporate brand as well as all internal and external communications, including social media strategy.General Corporate Communications: Serve as a strategic counselor to the leadership team and assist in preparing public speeches, talking points and other presentations. S/He will establish communications policies, protocols and procedures to ensure alignment with strategic operating objectives, change management, and work with cross-functional business leaders to develop new communications programs and initiatives.Corporate Brand: Work closely with the CC&EO to set the vision and strategy for brand marketing activities, campaigns, and projects, and work cross-functionally with a range of functions in the company, including creative, marketing, public relations, internal communications, Human Resources, strategic partnerships, program management, web ops and development, and the c-suite. This position manages a range of external vendors and agencies and must must work cooperatively with a variety of internal stakeholders. This person is expected to make recommendations on how to best accomplish different objectives or manage a range of stakeholders to complete different projects on specified timelines.Issues Management: Will work with other corporate leaders in identifying and managing communications on critical emerging business or customer issues, as well as special projects or initiatives.Crisis Communications: Work closely with the leadership team on all aspects of planning for and dealing with crisis, including engaging directly with and serving as an on-the-record spokesperson with the media where necessary.Social Media and Corporate Web Assets: Oversees the strategy for the Company website, brand and thought leadership focused content marketing strategies and assets, internal branding initiatives, employer branding initiatives, and branded investor communications materials (investor.Company.com and annual report).Things That Should Be in Your Background:While the quality and accomplishments of a person's career will be the determining factor, the finalist must have the following requisite qualifications:Minimum 12 years public relations experience, with at least 5 years of leadership experience overseeing a breadth of marketing and communication functions for publicly traded companySignificant experience developing and executing multi-channel strategic communications plansDemonstrated success managing large teams of communications and PR professionals, creating a vision for the team and coaching them to excellenceWell established media relationships and the ability to build additional media, social media, industry, and other relationships on Company's behalfStrong understanding of the communication requirements related to securities and stock exchange disclosures, M&A, corporate finance and investment transactionsProven track record working with and providing strategic counsel to c-suite level executivesExperience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments that require flexibility and a capacity to adapt quickly to changeBachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related discipline; advanced communications related degree or MBA preferred but not requiredOther Attributes That Will Help You in This Role:The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:Can inspire trust and confidence, including ability to sell ideas and influence directly and indirectlyPrefers high-energy environment characterized by high-growth expectations within an extremely competitive marketplaceExecutive-level verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including ability to distill complex issues into compelling communicationsApproaches challenging circumstances and relationships with confidence and initiativeExcellent listener balanced with ability to challenge colleagues constructively and stimulate the thinking of othersConfident decision maker supported by disciplined, logical thinking, attention to detail and fact-based, documented conclusions and opinionsDeep communications/PR expertise and the ability to interpret emerging trends, transfer knowledge to peer executives and implement as appropriate to enable continued achievement of the company's visionDemonstrated success securing high level cross functional collaboration/participation; ability to establish leadership credibility and inspire large teams to achieve common goalsStrong business acumen/sensitivity; thinks holistically, incorporates overall company objectives in developing team strategy and decisionsLeadership courage; ability to appropriately challenge status quo and influence others
