The American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), is a nonprofit, bipartisan membership organization whose mission is to pursue excellence in health and human services. We do this by supporting state and local agencies, informing policymakers, and working with our partners to drive innovative, integrated and efficient solutions in policy and practice. APHSA seeks a Director of the Center for Child and Family Well-being (CCFWB), who will report to our Senior Director for Policy and Government Affairs. Our value proposition of Influence, Build, and Connect motivates and guides the way we do business in support of our members' overarching Pathway's initiative. To effectively deliver value, we must actively work together as a team. We promote collective learning, always considering how to do our work even better. To this end, we encourage all team members to speak up with ideas and concerns, share information, seek help, experiment with new ways of doing work, and talk openly about mistakes. RESPONSIBILITIES This Director position is responsible for leading the Association's Center for Child and Family Well-being, APHSA's newest Collaborative Center, and, for coordinating the work of the Center across the Association's Influence, Build and Connect teams in support of the members' Pathways initiative. The position is also responsible for connecting the work of the Center with two of APHSA's long-standing affinity groups - the National Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators (NAPCWA) and the National Association of State Child Care Administrators (NASCCA). As an APHSA Collaborative Center, the CCFWB is charged with the goal of leading national efforts to transform the operations, policies and practices of public sector health and human service agencies and programs, through whole family and preventative-focused approaches and toward the sustained well-being of all children, youth and families. Oversee administration for the NAPCWA and NASSCA Executive Committees (with support from the policy associate), including preparing for and facilitating monthly meetings, coordinating communication and ongoing membership outreach and engagement. Lead execution of the CCFWB plan in coordination with NAPCWA and NASSCA as well as other key affinity and leadership groups with APHSA. Lead the integration and alignment, content development, service delivery, business development, and general monitoring for the various activities and services developed or provided under the plan. From a financial standpoint, support revenue and expense targets in accord with the APHSA-wide budget, while strategically targeting projects, and continuously improving service quality. Serve as senior policy analyst and strategy lead for APHSA's child and family policy portfolio. Work with Congress and the Federal Administration to advance Pathway's principles and polices through whole family and preventative approaches. Actively participate in various coalitions, particularly those on child welfare and child care, to develop strong strategic partnerships and advance our members' Pathways efforts. YourMembership.
