The Role: The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for administering, facilitating & explaining benefit programs to employees. Including handling walk-ins and telephone inquiries, directing employees to appropriate resources. Investigates and resolves complex benefit issues. This includes assisting employees with enrollment, open enrollment, filing claims, COBRA, explaining appeal processes, and 401K enrollment. Acts as the liaison with third-party administrators and insurance companies as needed. Notifies the applicable vendors of new enrollments, changes and discrepancies. Researches and reconciles any discrepancies found by the vendors. Monitors and update compliance issues as it relates to our group health programs, recommending changesYour Focus: Assists with the implementation and ongoing delivery of corporate benefit plans, including both health and welfare and 401(k) plans. Administers wellness initiatives and incentives Works with third party vendors and consultants to coordinate services. Prepares regular benefit reports. Assists with audits to monitor accuracy and performance. Performs administrative duties such as documenting processes and procedures, and updating benefit communications when needed. Collaborate with Payroll to review, analyze, and reconcile payroll, eligibility and census related data. Support the annual benefits open enrollment process Serving as a point of contact with internal stakeholders, vendors and consultants on matters such as plan design, contracts, and audits. Coordinating the design, development, and review of employee communications and marketing materials regarding health benefits, including development of benefits training, summary plan descriptions, and plan documents, to assist geographically-dispersed employee workforce and their dependents understand and value their benefits programs/services. Staying current on emerging and new legislation to provide recommendations on potential changes necessary for compliance. Ensuring all plan filings and audits are performed to maintain plan qualification and governmental compliance of including but not limited to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), HIPAA, DOL, and Internal Revenue Code. Assists team with broader compensation philosophy and participants in compensation survey
