The US Marshals Service is the nation's oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The missions of the Service include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset seizure and forfeiture, apprehension of fugitives, prisoner transportation and custody.
This developmental position is located in the Human Resources Division (HRD), United States Marshals Service (USMS). The incumbent serves as a Human Resources Specialist, providing recruitment and staffing management advisory services for assigned USMS organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for the GS-7 position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying.
You may qualify at the GS-7, if you fulfill one of the following qualifications:
A.) Have a bachelor's degree AND superior academic achievement based on one of the following criteria: 1) Class Standing-Graduated in the upper third of the class based on completed courses in the College, University or major subdivision; 2) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 scale as recorded on the official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; or 3)Election to membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society. Submit a copy of your transcript and documented proof of GPA, Class Standing, or Honor Society membership.(MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS)B.) Have one full year of graduate level study, or I possess a master's or higher degree, e.g., LL.B., J.D., LL.M., Ph.D, in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work of the position. Such fields include personnel management, human resources management, industrial relations, public administration, political science, business administration, psychology, labor relations or education. C.) Have one year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal government performing all of the following: 1) Utilize an automated staffing system for processing personnel/ payroll actions (e.g. EPIC, NFC, empHR, PeopleSoft, or other similar systems),; 2) assist senior staffers in drafting vacancy announcements, job analysis, and referral lists via an automated recruiting system (e.g. USA Staffing, QuickHire, Avue, Monster, or other similar systems); 3) review qualifications, and follow established processes, policies, laws and regulations as it relates to Title 5 CFR, U.S.C. codes, OPM and Agency Merit system principles; and 4) gather information and data, as needed for recruitment & staffing actions and reports via automated tools (e.g. Microsoft Access/ Excel, Lotus Notes, or other similar systems) .
D.) Have less than the full amount of education described in "A" and "B" and less than the amount of experience described in "C," but I have a combination of the type of graduate education described in "B" and the type of experience described in "C." (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS)
