The Selective Service System is an independent agency whose mission is to (1) maintain a system that can promptly and efficiently furnish untrained manpower for induction into the Armed Forces during a national emergency and (2) provide an Alternative Service Program to men classified as conscientious objectors during a draft.
This position is part of the National Headquarters OD IT, Selective Service System. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, testing and supporting interactive and server-based applications in a network environment.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing work that involves: 1) Apply advance IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, procedure and strategies necessary for developing and interpreting policies and procedures in support of the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure; 2) Develop new software design technologies to support new and existing software applications through design coding, testing, debugging and documenting of complex computer programs and applications; 3) Lead a team of Software Engineers in complex IT projects in a multi-vendor environment; 4) Implement best practices guides for use by the other applications software specialist in support of Web Application (Hosting, Support, and Services) and Service Oriented Architecture; and 5) Identify and migrate security vulnerabilities/risks to ensure the Information Technology systems integrity and availability.
