Would you enjoy serving as a staff specialist for the power resources office and perform as a reliability compliance program specialist? Responsibilities include providing program management ensuring that Reclamation's generating and mechanical equipment comply with North Amerian Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) standards.
LOCATION: Hydropower Office, Power Resources Office, Denver, CO.

GS-13: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-12 level in Federal service.
DEFINITION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities as follows:
GS-13: Specialized experience includes experience managing the Reliability Compliance Program for a large power generating or transmitting entity or agency in accordance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standards by analyzing emerging issues and practices, developing or recommending policies, processes and procedures, and providing advice on compliance; experience in applying NERC Standards to the operations of a large electric utility or providing technical expertise as it relates to a NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Compliance program; experience in working with multiple levels of an entity or agency, outside entities, and Electric Reliability Organizations in the development and application of a NERC Reliability Compliance Program.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

For this announcement the referral process will be conducted in two phases. Category rating and selection procedures will be used for evaluating this position. 1. Knowledge and ability performing effective security control testing and/or vulnerability assessments; intrusion detection and/or intrusion prevention system (IDS/IPS) deployment strategies; vulnerability research methodologies and sources.
2. Expert knowledge of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) reliability compliance standards and requirements.
3. Ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships in leading and working with teams.
