Branch Chief (Central Intake Center)
This position is located in the Central Intake Center of the Family Court Operations Division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Central Intake Center is responsible for processing all Family Court pleadings and filings including adoptions, divorce, custody, termination of parental rights, guardianship, juvenile, neglect, mental health, mental habilitation, paternity and support cases. In addition to managing the Central Intake Center, the Branch Chief is also responsible for managing the overall operations of the Marriage Bureau.

To qualify for this position, you must submit the following:

A Bachelor's Degree plus five (5) years of experience in a general office or legal office, including two (2) years of supervisory experience managing staff within a court, legal or social services environment. Knowledge of the District of Columbia Family Court Act of 2001, rules, policies, procedures, and court operations are required.
Equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Management training may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience (You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. certificate, transcript, etc.) with your application).

This job is being filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive civil service.
Please note there is a mandatory one year probationary period for all non-judicial new employees.
