This position is located in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), Office of Administrative Services (OAS), Space and Facilities Management Division, Space Administration Branch. The office is responsible for providing project management of all space and facilities projects as well as move management services throughout USPTO offices. This position serves as a Supervisory Space Management Specialist responsible for overseeing and managing the program for space planning, design, and alterations to new and existing USPTO space, and the move management program for all new and existing employee moves. The incumbent also supervises the USPTO telecommunications services program which encompasses budget planning and oversight of the Designated Agency Representative (DAR).

    Specialized Experience: is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service.

    Candidates for the GS-14 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

    Specialized experience for this position includes:
    • Experience supervising or leading a team of space and move management specialists; And
    • Experience reviewing design drawings, floorplans and layouts for offices based on analysis or evaluation of one of the following: business needs, improvement need, present space assignment or maximum space utilization; And
    • Experience developing technical requirements and descriptions of work to be accomplished by contractors, e.g. writing statements of work and other task statements.
