JOB SUMMARY:

The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is widely considered to be one of the best retirement plans in the world and a model for defined contribution plans. We are seeking a champion for its continual improvement. The FRTIB is an Independent Federal Agency responsible for administering the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). We help Federal employees and members of the Uniformed Services retire with dignity by providing benefits similar to private sector 401(k) plans.

    Background Suitability Investigation: Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background investigation and the granting of a Federal suitability or security clearance. If selected, you may be offered tentative employment until the background investigation has been fully adjudicated.

    To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the specialized experience as described below:

    Specialized Experience: Experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position typically in or directly related to investment and financial functions, and is equivalent to the work performed at the next lower grade level.

    The Specialized Experience is defined as experience which involves one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Such experience includes providing technical expertise on investment issues and projects, coordinating and overseeing investment management activities, developing and implementing policies and strategies for investment management, analyzing investment performance and compliance, and developing findings and recommendations regarding investment returns.

    Education may not be substituted for experience at this grade level.

The category assignment is a measure of the degree in which your background matches the competencies required for this position. Qualified candidates will be ranked into one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified or Qualified. If you are found Best-Qualified for this vacancy, your application will be referred to the selecting official for further review.
