JOB SUMMARY:

The mission of the Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs team is to maximize the physical, emotional and social development of the Navy family. FFR enables a ready Navy force through its Fleet Readiness, Family Readiness and Housing Programs. We service all non-appropriated fund (NAF) employees who work for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) and Bachelor Housing (BH) throughout the Fleet and Family Readiness Program for the Naval District Washington (NDW) Region.

  • This position is subject to completion of a satisfactory background check and/or National Agency Check (NACI) and be able to satisfactorily renew every 5 years.

    This position is subject to special inoculation and immunization requirements as a condition of employment for working with children.  Employee is required to obtain appropriate immunization against communicable diseases in accordance with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which includes the influenza vaccine.

    Position is subject to both pre-employment and random drug testing as a condition of employment. A positive drug test, or failure to submit for testing, may become the basis for removal from this position.

    Must pass a pre-employment physical with ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, provide evidence of immunization, and be free from communicable disease.  Incumbents must satisfactorily complete all background checks, including a NACI.  Must satisfactorily obtain or complete required training certificates and maintain certifications/credentials.

    Must submit copy of Official College Degree and/or course completion certifications with your application packet to be considered for this position. If submitting a transcript please submit official only no website site downloads.

    Must have one of the following:

    A 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Home Economics (early childhood emphasis),or related field of study AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children or youth

    OR

    A Master’s degree in the related field of study AND a minimum of 1 year professional experience working with children

    OR

    A combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major in a field (24 higher level semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course study described above and 3 years of full time experience working with children and or youth.

    Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English and possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

    Knowledge of and skill in applying both Federal and State laws governing the detection and prevention of child abuse and/or neglect.

    Some positions have special requirements.  In these cases selection is tentative pending satisfactory completion of these requirements.  Applicants may be required to provide proof of education, etc. All selections are contingent upon the obtaining of satisfactory employment reference checks.

    As a condition of employment, the selected individual will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit/Electronic Fund Transfer program.
