This position is located in the Department of Clinical Research Informatics, Clinical Center, National Institutes of Health. The overall mission of the Department of Clinical Research Informatics (DCRI) is to ensure the appropriate use of technology and information management to promote health and research productivity. The Department of Clinical Research Informatics is responsible for processes and systems that directly affect users in the care delivery and research settings. Work focuses on the analysis and evaluation of clinical research informatics needs and requirements, the development of design options that support the work processes of clinical research, and the implementation and management of responsive Clinical Information Technology solutions.

    To qualify for this position, your resume must detail how you meet the specialized experience AND information technology-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies described below.

    You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS- 12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector performing IT related tasks such as: developing, implementing or evaluating the IT security programs of an organization, reviewing and evaluating security incident response policies, and identifying where there is a need for changes based on new security technologies or threats, providing advice and instructions to staff on IT security issues, and/or working with other IT specialists to build secure Web enabled applications.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
