The MOLINK Branch is a small, elite, one-of-a-kind organization providing direct support to the Chief Executive and, when directed by the President, other government officials at the highest level. Established in 1963 by bilateral agreement with the former USSR (now the Russian Federation), MOLINK personnel maintain around-the-clock instantaneous crisis and privacy communications links and translation support for the President, operating the Presidential Washington-Moscow Direct Communications Link (the Presidential HOTLINE) directly linking the American and Russian heads of state.

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 12 grade level in the Federal service:
-Develops and presents briefings to foreign dignitaries, military officials. and numerous high-level delegations at the CJCS/VCJCS/SECDEF level.
-Maintained information on events in Russia and international events affecting US-Russian relations through monitoring of domestic and international open-source materials and classified intelligence reports and material.
-Completed linguist communications operations and procedures, and coordination with Executive Branch agencies, DoD agencies, organizations outside of Joint Staff, and other US government agencies.
-Develop techniques as a translator and assist other translators who are equally experienced or less experienced in making translations from various styles, coined phrases, and with words that have no equivalent terminology in the second language.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
