Physical Requirements: Most of the work performance is at a desk, in an office setting. The position does require touring of the medical center for direct supervision, survey and environment of care issues. The incumbent occasionally carries books and papers to and from meetings and conferences.To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/20/2017.
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:
- U.S. citizenship
- English language proficiency
- Licensure and Registration - Current, full, and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States or in the District of Columbia. The Nurse must maintain a current registration to continue employment with the VA.
- Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency, and accredited by either the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) at the time the program was completed by the applicant or a graduate of a foreign school of professional nursing.
- Physical standards - All applicants must meet the physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to employment may be required.
In addition to the education requirements, applicants should possess the following technical qualifications and Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) required for this position. Typically, these qualifications would be gained through education, experience and training which reflect progressive development and achievement in responsible management/executive level assignments in a health care at a national or Network level such as progressively more complex and responsible leadership assignments in clinical and administrative areas with an additional expertise in the area of health care policy, patient care, and Quality Management; experience with multifaceted health care delivery systems and their relationship to external review organizations and academic medical centers as well as hospital and service level operations.
If you are currently a federal employee, this type of experience is typically found at positions the GS-15 level and above.
