PenFed is hiring an Supervisor-2nd Trust in  Alexandria, VA.   The primary purpose of this job is to oversee the daily activities of mortgage operations ensuring timely and accurate completion of section responsibilities, meet established guidelines and ensuring high quality member and/or lender service. Provides supervisory oversight and support to staff and performs the duties of an experienced processor.


Essential Functions


Works a processor pipeline consisting of employee loans and/or complicated loans and rushes  as needed. Maintains contact with members or correspondent lenders throughout the processing period, assisting them with any questions and notifying them of any additional information required. Monitors loans in process to determine any deviation from standard processing time and to take appropriate actions including notifying management for alternatives to ensure lenders and or members receive timely service. Manages workload distribution and monitors progress of loan volume and projects to ensure goals are met and proper documentation is attached. Interprets policies and guidelines for employees. Completes a thorough analysis of the loan file to determine credit worthiness and collateral value. Provides final approval on property adjustments and loan terms. Assists with writing and administering staff performance evaluations and coordinates the training and development of each employee, ensuring performance goals are established for each and progress monitored regularly.  Prepares and/or sends training flashes in regards to changes, updates, systems enhancements, etc. May oversee closer, funder or processor activity and provides feedback on file flow and issues on closed/funded loans. Counsels and provides training and guidance to less experienced staff. Assists with cross training as needed.  Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and/or experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. Three (3) to five (5) years related work experience Knowledge of mortgage operations, regulations and procedures required Strong verbal and written communication skills required  

Supervisory Responsibility

·         This position will supervise employees.


Licenses and Certifications

·         There are no additional certifications required.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.


Limited travel to various worksites is required.
