Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.


Job Summary:

Westat has an immediate opening for a research assistant who will work closely with a multidisciplinary research team working on research projects about education.
Job Responsibilities:
· Supporting staff who work remotely. · Developing training materials. · Monitoring the productivity and quality of the data collection effort. · Maintaining and enhancing databases of project information. · Working with warehouse and clerical staff. · Testing project systems.


Job Requirements:

· A bachelor's degree, preferably in the social sciences, education, and 1 year of experience in a research or education setting is required. · Occasional travel may be required.
Strong written and oral communication skills and strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel), as well as an ability to exercise independent judgment, work collaboratively in teams, and demonstrate attention to detail, are essential.
