Summary

PenFed is hiring a Manager, Real Estate Quality Control in Omaha, NE and Alexandria, VA . The primary purpose of this job is to maintain and continuously improve a robust real estate quality control program that ensures all audit deficiency patterns and trends are discovered, highlighted, and communicated to production management, training leadership and operational risk management to ensure appropriate root-cause analysis is conducted and appropriate solutions are implemented.  

 

Essential Functions

  • Manage the real estate quality control program to ensure the overall quality of the mortgage loan production adheres to PenFed’s policies and procedures, GSEs, investors, insurers, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, revise and implement appropriate review procedures to ensure compliance with PenFed’s policies, laws and regulations; GSEs, Investors and Insurers requirements 
  • Develop and implement procedures that ensure appropriate random and targeted sample selections, coordinate data and/or mortgage file reviews, and report accurate and actionable findings to production management, training leadership and operational risk management.
  • Manage required reporting and analysis of random and targeted testing, data reviews, and assist in performing the root cause analysis of errors and recommending corrective action performance and improvement plans.
  • Manage the implementation of new and/or revised QC regulations; ensures all affected departments develop and/or revise appropriate practices, policies and procedures to ensure compliance 
  • Interact directly with PenFed management and employees concerning real estate loan quality issues.
  • Review training outlines to ensure compliance with internal procedures and investor requirements. 
  • Ability to understand and interpret all compliance and credit underwriting documentation required to be present in each loan folder.
  • Maintain working knowledge of internal policies and procedures and external regulations which affect the department.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning real estate related lending.
*This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.*

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field is preferred or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.  
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in mortgage operations is required.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage lending and/or conventional lending and VA lending policies and procedures. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience. 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required.  Attention to detail required.    
  • MS office general knowledge required  
Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position will supervisor employees.
Licenses and Certifications

  • There are no additional certifications required.
 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
