JOB SUMMARY:

    GS-13: Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal sector.

    Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular abilities, skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position.

    Examples of specialized experience related to this position include demonstrated expert knowledge of Laws, Executive Orders, U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and policies, ODNI and other agency regulations governing the Federal personnel and National Security programs; demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of requirements to meet the National Security standards for access to classified information; skill in oral and written communication; and the ability to act as a technical authority in assignments requiring the application of new theories and developments to security problems.

    National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
