Functional Duties/Responsibilities:Functional Duties/Responsibilities: Senior expert with extensive knowledge in the Safety discipline. Provides insight and advice concerning task or project safety direction and outcomes. Contributes to safety evaluations, analysis, and development of recommended solutions. Resolves complex safety related problems, which require an in-depth knowledge of safety engineering. Applies principles and methods of the subject matter to specialized solutions. Generally possess demonstrated ability and experience in management consulting and cross-team facilitation at the senior management level. Provide suitable technical and analytical expertise in the areas of software safety, vehicle safety, laser safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)/general industry accepted workplace safety and other acquisition safety related ESOH disciplines to include the drafting, development, review and processing of acquisition documenation supporting safety issues for PM Engineer equipment. 1. Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety and environmental regulations. 2. Administers training programs in accident and fire prevention and protection and other employee safety procedures. 3. Prepares and distributes educational material and information, including safety displays. 4. Conducts site visits to collect safety information and audit facilities for compliance with OSHA regulations. 5. Maintains appropriate safety and environmental documentation. 6. Understands and interprets ISO 9000 as relates to safety and environmental requirements. 7. Participates in special projects as required. Education Bachelors Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience. Qualifications 2-5 years of related occupational health and safety experience. 10 years’ experience supporting the engineer equipment associated to the five separate teams of PM Engineers: Power Systems Team, Fuel and Water Team, Mobility and Counter-Mobility (MCM) Team, Material Handling and Construction Equipment (MHE/CE) Team and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team.Monitors and evaluates the workplace to ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, and administers related training programs.
