Designs and develops instructional approaches and interactive courseware to meet training requirements.

 1. Designs and develops instructional approaches and/or strategies to meet training requirements.

2. Conducts analysis of training requirements and media requirements.3. Develops appropriate training objectives and test methods and designs instructionally valid training materials.4. Ensures integrity of task analysis, training requirements, training hierarchies, instructional materials, and evaluation plans.5. Designs and develops computer based training, web-based training, electronic performance support systems and other technology-based learning solutions.6. Develops flow diagrams and story boards.7. Designs instructionally sound lessons in a variety of delivery media.8. Interacts with customer and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy of instructional content.9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.10. Participates in special projects as required. Researches, prepares and edits technical documents.

 1. Researches, prepares and edits technical documents for publication, including user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.

2. Reviews, researches, and edits information for preparation of contract deliverables.3. Ensures documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.4. Interfaces with writers, illustrators, word processors, and subject matter experts in coordinating/preparing the edited draft for publication.5. Participates in the creation of proposals and multi-media presentation materials.6. Participates in the design and development of marketing brochures, conference programs, public relations announcements, and other materials when requested.7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.8. Participates in special projects as required. Suggest commercial print and non-print materials for teaching and learning activities based on broad knowledge of what resources may be available. Prepare and review written materials ensuring that basic grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, page organization, and format is correct. Edit and revise written text per style manuals and ensure consistency. Use the computer to prepare and edit word processing documents and computer presentations, and to develop and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and project planning applications. Prepare written text using tables, columns, and tabular data formats. Life-cycle management of curriculum.

Education Bachelors Degree in Education or a related discipline.

Qualifications 2-5 years of related instructional development experience.

2-5 years of related experience preparing and editing technical documentation.

 Candidate must have:
  • Experience or related experience editing documents for style, format, and content using the Government Printing Office Style Guide and/or the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Extensive knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling, and the ability to use reference guides.
  • Experience with and knowledge of curriculum materials created for US Navy ILT, ILE and IMI training, including: analysis, design, and development.
Candidate should have:

  • Experience with material created using AIM I, AIM II, CPM and LOM, including lesson plans and trainee guides.
  • Experience with test items, video and audio scripts, storyboards, Navy PQS, interactive multi-media content.
  • Experience with NAVEDTRA 130 (series), NAVEDTRA 132 (series), 133 (series), 134 (series), 135 (series), 136 (series), NAVEDTRA 137 (series) and NETCINST 1510.3(series).
In addition, the following specific qualifications are required:

Excellent written communication skills are a requirement of employment.

Candidate must be a US citizen with a qualifying background investigation (NACLC or higher) within the last 10 years to meet eligibility requirements for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC).

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
