ORR National Call Center - Call Specialist (Bilingual Spanish Child Social Work Exp)
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) supports the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Our programs provide children in need with critical resources to assist them in becoming integrated members of American society. Unaccompanied alien children apprehended by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) immigration officials are transferred to the care and custody of ORR. ORR promptly places an unaccompanied child in the least restrictive setting that is in the best interests of the child, taking into consideration danger to self, danger to the community, and risk of flight. ORR takes into consideration the unique nature of each child’s situation and incorporates child welfare principles when making placement, clinical, case management, and release decisions that are in the best interest of the child. - Answer incoming calls, emails and texts as initial NCC Point of Contact (POC) and elevate urgent/emergent crisis calls per established proceduresDocument call information and maintain accurate records in mandated systems.
- Report accounts of sexual/physical abuse to the appropriate law enforcement/CPS agency and ORRProvide materials and support to callers regarding the Family Reunification application and/or processProvide referrals to UAC and sponsors for community-based servicesRoute requests for information on UAC placements to the appropriate care provider programsProvide Risk/Safety Assessments and Plans to UACs and SponsorsDocument and appropriately route contact requests from, attorneys, advocates and government officials.Conduct Safety and Well-being Calls to UACs and Sponsors, as necessaryParticipate in special projects as required.
