General Dynamics Information Technology is searching for a Technical Editor. The Technical Editor researches, designs, writes, develops, edits, coordinates and maintains the production of technical and non-technical copy in multiple media formats (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel), primarily in the field of export compliance. Serves as website and/or SharePoint site administrator.
- Examples of technical copy include NASA Export Control Operations Manual, multimedia export control presentations, work instructions, export compliance training courses, and website content.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology, as assigned.Prepares and coordinates layout and organization of materials according to prepared outlines or specifications and makes format recommendations for new and existing products.Serves as the main interface for multiple stakeholders, to include government staff, subject matter experts (SME), contributing authors, illustrators, and other contractors to ensure product quality.Plans and executes program reviews, meetings, telecons, and video teleconferences with a wide variety of stakeholdersParticipates in special projects and other assigned tasks, as required.Strong professionalism, planning, organization, writing, communication, teamwork, and multicultural sensitivity/awareness skills are a must.Must also be self-motivated, able to work without supervision, and able to reprioritize as time limits and goals shift.
- B.S. in Engineering, technology, or other technical field (desired), the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience
- Familiarity with other graphic design toolsExperience with the ITAR and/or EAR export regulations Experience with NASA or space technology programs
