General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring for full-time Help Desk Technician to join the GDIT team. This position is located in Pyongtaek, South Korea. Be a part of an exciting opportunity. This project will move the military hospital from Seoul to Camp Humphreys. This hospital services all active military and their families. The complexity of this project will be moving a working hospital with no distribution to patient care.

 

Supervises the activities of assigned computer operations personnel.

  1.  Work on the project site supporting the Project Manager, but reporting to the IT SME not always at the project site. Communications will be electronic, via phone, and otherwise when the lead IT SME is not on-site.

 

2.Existing IM/IT and low voltage (LV) equipment may be moved from one location to another. Support the transportation, placement, initial testing, and training of the moved (reuse) IM/IT and LV equipment as part of a transition project function. All relocation of existing equipment must be performed in coordination with the IT SME lead and the end user client.

 

3.  Coordinate the integration of general contractor purchased LV systems, reuse LV systems, and other government-provided and purchased systems.

 

4.  Coordinate movement of leased equipment with appropriate OEM vendors in coordination with the IT SME.

 

5.  Support the development of a lifecycle procurement plan so that the appropriate equipment will be relocated to the new health facility with the remaining inventory potentially being disposed of.

 

6.  Support IT/LV equipment requirements validation and the preparing of purchasing packages that define system end user requirements.

 

7.  Image new computers.

 

8.  Transfer end user data from old end user device to new end user device.

 

9.  With little supervision, conduct power-on testing and ensure devices have network connectivity at the new health facility

 

10. Provides technical support and training to end-users.

 

11. Support the accreditation process of new systems or software.

 

12. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.

 

13. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

 

Participates in special projects as required.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications  

 

5-8 years of directly related experience supporting end-user computing and customer support, including supervisory experience.

 

1.  Strong written and oral communication, and excellent customer server skills are required.

 

2.  Comfortable with calling IT OEM vendors and distributors to obtain necessary information.

 

3.  Security+ Certification

 

4. Computing Environment (CE) Certification

 

5.  Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

 

6.  Experience with Microsoft Windows Workstation, operating systems, and common applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)

 

7.  Experience with desktop/laptop and application support

 

8.  Support for handheld devices (Blackberry, iOS, Android, Windows), a plus

 

9.  Solid understanding of basic networking principles

 

10. Operational knowledge of the following is a plus: Active Directory and Group Policy, SharePoint, and Microsoft System Center products

 

11. Must be able to obtain Secret clearance.
