Position Overview
Freddie Mac’s Investment and Capital Markets Operations Department is currently seeking a Security Master Analyst to join the Data Management Team. The Analyst will be responsible for the security set-up and review of Investment & Capital Markets traded products. As an associate within the group, the individual should be able to quickly learn the procedures for completing their daily tasks assigned by the Manager of the team. In addition they may provide support to projects that are specific to Security Master, or other controls and processes within the operations department. It is a fast paced environment, so attention to detail and ability to multi task is essential. Responsibilities may include:
* Set up of Mortgage product securities related to the retained portfolio.
* Security set up of Derivative products such as Swaps, Swaptions and Futures.
* Security set up of Debt products such as Discount Notes and Medium Term Notes.
* Security set up of Treasuries and other liquidity products.
* Research and resolution of ad hoc issues and questions
* Performing control activities over the data within Security Master for both operational and financial (SOX) purposes.
* Assisting senior members within the team on projects.
* Providing suggestions on how to better improve controls and efficiency within the Security Master team.
* Working with treasury and other operations groups in determining financing needs and availability of collateral for pledging
* Acting as a liaison with trading personnel, legal, and technology staff
* Recommending changes to policies and procedures that affect immediate organization’s operation
* Provide resources recommendations to Manager to help the team meet schedules and goals associated with objectives.

Basic Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; advanced studies/degree preferred
* Understanding of MBS, Derivatives and Debt products.
* Strong ability to balance baseline activities and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience working with data and data mining, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
* Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills
* Experience with BlackRock’s Aladdin Trading system and specifically Security Master.
* Experience with building business requirements around data logic and working with IT business partners to implement.
* Knowledge or experience in performing SOX and operational controls.
* Experience with trading personnel, technology staff, accounting, audit, and legal
* A proven self-starter with effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to analyze current state, and recommend technology solutions for improvement
* Experience with industry developments, initiatives, and strategic direction
