General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring for full-time Logistics Assistant to join the GDIT team. This position is located in Pyongtaek, South Korea. Be a part of an exciting opportunity. This project will move the military hospital from Seoul to Camp Humphreys. This hospital services all active military and their families. The complexity of this project will be moving a working hospital with no distribution to patient care.

 

Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance and/or repair activities.

 1.  Report to on-site logistics lead/manager and work with the equipment planning team in capture of all initial outfitting requirements spanning all medical equipment, non-medical equipment, furnishings, and information technology items.

 

2.  Support the tracking of delivery, installation, and training. Coordinate with the logistics lead on a daily basis any perceived schedule slippages.

 

3.  Oversee third party logistics dock operations.

 

4.  Support the determination of vendor-related questions/issues on delivery, installation, and training actions.

 

5.  Support wall-to-wall inventories and spot checks to validate equipment received prior to the new facility opening.

 

6.  Support all delivery and distribution actions in accordance with the project schedule and occupancy criteria.

 

7.  Support the receipt processing, inspection, and acceptance process related to all equipment and furnishings applied for outfitting the new facility while closely coordinating and receiving input from biomedical equipment and information technology specialists who perform direct inspection of equipment.

 

8.  Support the process to inspect all incoming items to ensure no damage or incorrect items were shipped. Immediately report perceived problems.

 9. Participates in special projects as required.

Education BA/BS in management science, operations research, logistics, engineering, information systems, or similar technical/scientific discipline required. Equivalent technical training and experience may be considered.

Qualifications 1.  5+ years of recent experience in facilities management with emphasis in equipment planning, logistics, and vendor coordination.

 

2.  Technical and logistics expertise that includes a diverse mix of skills encompassing logistics planning, life cycle management, third party logistics, equipment planning, procurement, and customer interaction.

 

3.  Understanding and experience in the logistics and equipment management during a health facility relocation.

 

4.  Proficient with presentation and project management software, such as MS PowerPoint and MS Project.

 

5.  Excellent and professional communications skills with all levels of authority.

 

6.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills required given the wide array of reports and presentations that this candidate will prepare and deliver.

 

7.  Understanding of the Korean business culture.

 

8.  Bilingual with English and Korean is a definite plus.

 

9.  Considerable walking, reaching, stepping/climbing on ladders, and light lifting is required. Physical activities are common on a daily basis.
