JOB SUMMARY:

The selectee for this position serves as an IT Specialist within Naval Air Systems Command.

This position will be used to cover all parentheticals that fall under the 2210 series.

THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUNCEMENT.  The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2009 provides that the Secretary of Defense can designate acquisition positions as shortage positions and recruit and appoint highly qualified persons to these positions.  This announcement is open to accept resumes from candidates interested in helping the Department of the Navy meet our mission requirements for the acquisition of systems, equipment and facilities.

This public notice announcement is for anticipated vacancies to be filled under the Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for acquisition positions located at Department of Navy installations identified in this public notice. Positions may be filled as permanent with a full-time work schedule. Pay will vary by geographic location. There may or may not be actual/projected vacancies at the time you submit your application.     In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.     Your resume must demonstrate that you have IT-related experience that demonstrates possession of each of the four required competencies (i.e., attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving) AND one year of progressively responsible specialized experience in the same or similar work at a level of difficulty and responsibility that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills or abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position of an NM-2210-04. Creditable specialized experience includes duties such as: 1) Resolving difficult problems that establish new benchmarks; 2) Making long-range (i.e. 5 to 10 year) plans for advanced IT systems and services; 3) Applying IT project planning and management processes and procedures; 4) Applying quantitative analysis tools; and/or 5) Delivers effective oral and written briefings, presentations, and reports in which complex material is conveyed.

    DAWIA: This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. This position has been identified as a Career Field Information Technology at Level III.  If you possess DAWIA Certification, please indicate your Certification Level and Career Field information in your resume.
