Job Description:

The Clinical Information System Specialist is a member of the cardiac and vascular service line team. This position is responsible to ensure all clinical information system implementations are optimized, standardized, and adhere to system wide clinical practice. The Specialist integrates CV clinical practice, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge in CV clinical practice. S/he facilitates the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, clinicians, and other providers by optimizing clinical operations with information technology. Key areas of focus include: Design CV system architecture that ensures optimized workflow and clinical information availability; establish and maintain coordination and associated communication of all change control that effects system design / architecture and operations; serve as a liaison / coordinator / communicator to the user community on all system design and direction changes/developments; maintain close relationship with IT department and user community to ensure proper feedback on system direction; stay abreast of the latest technology and lead proposed new technology in all future system changes.

Masters Level Degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration preferred. Previous experience working with healthcare leadership and clinical teams to design/implement complex clinically oriented information system projects is required. Experience in implementing as a CV registered nurse or in a cardiovascular clinical setting OR in healthcare management, project management, or process improvement. Lean and/or six sigma certification preferred.
