Serve as electro-mechanical fabricator in the F/A & EA-18G Advanced Weapons Lab Facilities Branch.
Essential Job Functions:
Assemble simple chassis' used to house custom electronic assemblies.
Assemble custom electronic assemblies (populate PCBs, relay panels and internal wiring layout).
Build custom electrical cable assemblies using commercial and military style connectors.
Take part in lab modification efforts as needed (wire bundle installation or in-place modification, equipment rack mounting).
Perform QA checks on co-workers; products.
Modify or populate 19 equipment racks with custom and commercial equipment.Requirements
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.
High school diploma/GED and a minimum of seven (7) years of applicable experience is required. Will also consider candidate with AS/TS plus five (5) years
Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
Knowledge of military style electrical connector tooling and fabrication procedures.
Ability to read schematic and fabrication drawings.
Formal training in soldering techniques related to electrical cable and PCB fabrication.
Ability to learn how to operate in-shop equipment (drill press, bandsaw, label makers).
Ability to obtain industry standard soldering and wire harness fabrication certifications.
Surface mount soldering experience.
Electrical Technician experience.
Military avionics maintenance training.
Proficiency in common Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of military and commercially available fiber optic products (cables, conduits, connector types, etc.).
F/A and EA-18G systems knowledge.
