Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.


1. Installs, maintains and repairs voice, data and wireless communications systems.

 2. Maintains telecommunications equipment and installs, rearranges and removes equipment and associated wiring.

 3. Interprets service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.

 4. Tests, locates, and repairs equipment problems associated with trouble calls, and performs routine maintenance.

 5. Verifies work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information.

 6. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

 7. Participates in special projects as required.


Organize and direct hardware installations on site surveys.

Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.

Design and optimize network topologies.

Analyze and develop new hardware requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.

Direct and lead preparation of engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.

Develop hardware installation schedules.

Mobilize installation team.

Direct and lead preparation of drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.

Prepare site installation and test reports.

Coordinate post installation operations and maintenance support.

Work is primarily network infrastructure installations.

Must be knowledgeable with fiber optic and copper termination and associated tools and test equipment.

Work may require travel of up to 30% or more per year.


BICSI certification and Network+ certification/ Security+ certification required.

Certifications shall be acquired prior to employment extending past six(6) months.


Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience. DoD 8570 Certification highly desired and required for employment lasting longer than six (6) months.

Qualifications 1 to 3 years of related telecommunications experience, minimum.

Highly desire 3-5 years of related telecommunications experience. 


BICSI certification and Network+ certification/ Security+ certification required.

TS/SCI Clearance preferred.
