The George Mason University School of Integrative Studies (SIS) is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual for an Assistant Director of Student Services position. Responsibilities: * Assist the Director of Student Services in providing SIS students with quality academic advising and support; * Working in a dynamic and fast-paced academic setting, work collaboratively to coordinate and provide strategic leadership to the school in the areas of student advising, student persistence, recruitment and orientation, and graduation compliance; and * Reporting to the Director of Student Services within SIS, the incumbent is an integral part of the student services advising team.
Duties: * Advise SIS undergraduate students toward degree completion; * Manage the Graduation Compliance process; * Coordinate support for Students of Concern; * Chair Awards Committee; * Manage administrative details (attend relevant university meetings, process planning and implementation, new initiatives, etc.); * Participate in recruitment and orientation events; * Coordinate Internship applications; and * Teach a 1/1 academic load.
Required Qualifications: * Masters degree in a higher education related field; and * Demonstrated student services experience, particularly academic advising (minimum of three years is preferred).
Preferred Qualifications: * Experience teaching at the college level; * Familiarity with Student Information Systems and/or Advising Software (i.e., Ellucian Banner, DegreeWorks, Student Success Collaborative); and * Demonstrable experience evaluating advising and retention programming.
