EHS Management Systems Specialist

Key Role:

Work as an integral member of multi-disciplinary environmental, health, and safety (EHS) project teams. Maintain responsibility for supporting efforts in the EPA and other clients regarding the development, implementation, maintenance, auditing, and improvement of Environmental Management Systems (EMSs) or Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMSs). Contribute functional skills to other national defense and EHS service contracts, depending on availability of project work and the staff's skill, including providing support regarding EHS regulatory compliance maintenance and assessments. Facilitate cooperative working relationships among client organizations and project stakeholders with differing missions. This position may require the ability to travel up to 25% to 50% of the time, particularly when performing audits or assessments and technical support visits to regional locations.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience in environmental and occupational health and safety management activities
-5+ years of experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS), and Quality Management Systems (QMS) development, implementation, maintenance, auditing, and improvement
-Experience in consulting, providing analysis, policy writing, client support, and presentations both orally and in writing
-Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

-Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within the working environment

-BA or BS degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, or Occupational Health and Safety

-Exemplar Global Lead EMS Auditor Certification or equivalent

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience in the EHS field with data sampling, auditing, analysis, and reporting

-Knowledge of EHS Regulations, including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, CECRLA, NEPA, Executive Order 13423, 13514, and the new 13693, OSHA Regulations - 29 CFR 1910, 1926, and 1904, and EO 12690

-Possession of excellent organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills

-MA or MS degree preferred

-Completion of accredited Management Systems Lead Auditor training

-Certified Lead Auditor for other disciplines, including OSHMS or QMS
