Assistant Recruiter, Executive MBA Program - McDonough School of Business

Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) - located at the intersection of business, government, and international relations - develops principled leaders committed to serving both business and society. Through our global perspective, we prepare students to compete in today's international business environment.

The Assistant Recruiter supports all activities related to the smooth and effective

recruitment and enrollment of incoming students for the Executive MBA (EMBA) Program, currently at 50+ students each year. S/he supports all aspects of internal recruiting outreach including answering all emails, telephone calls and walk-in inquiries for the EMBA Program. The Assistant Recruiter works closely with the Senior Director of Recruitment and Admissions on special project pertaining to the recruitment, admissions and alumni engagement of Executive Education. He/she assists in implementing all procedures for recruiting outreach and follow-up with prospects. Reporting to the Senior Director of Recruitment and Admissions, the Assistant Recruiter has duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures that all marketing material content both printed and online are up to date and factually represent EMBA Program goals.
  • Engages, cultivates, and manages the recruiting pipeline.
  • Assists in planning recruiting events such as on and off campus information sessions, online information sessions, and occasional travel to represent McDonough School of Business at recruiting and alumni fairs.
  • Cultivates applicants from initial inquiry through the entire application and enrollment process.
  • Manages the enrollment process by maintaining and supporting all technology (such as Hobsons, Salesforce, and Marketo) related to the recruitment and admissions process on behalf of the EMBA Program.
  • Assists in the preparation of data collection to be used for forecasting, ranking, and accreditation surveys.
  • Works closely with the EMBA Program manager for handover of enrolled students, ensuring that relevant recruitment, marketing and admissions materials are up-to-date.
  • Acts as a liaison to other departmental units within the University such as the Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Services. 


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 - 3 years of work experience in a professional environment  
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint 
  • Confidence in large institution IT environment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities and a poised, professional demeanor
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in maintaining confidential data
  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Ability to build relationships with prospective students
  • Experience planning and managing a wide range of events and activities
  • Confidence to take initiative, ask questions and make recommendations with the end goal of process improvement and customer satisfaction
  • Comfort in working directly with executives at all levels and a genuine desire to understand and engage with international cultures and a team player

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in higher education/admissions environment
  • Knowledge of admissions information systems/databases
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Marketo
