Westat is an employee-owned corporation providing research services to agencies of the U.S. Government, as well as businesses, foundations, and state and local governments. Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.


Job Summary:

Westat is seeking a research analyst to work as part of a team on several projects in the areas of health, nutrition and employment.  The projects include program evaluations as well as survey and data analysis studies. 

Job Responsibilities:

· Conducting literature searches · Supporting data collection activities including surveys, interviews, and site visits, Preparing data for analysis (both qualitative and quantitative).

· Conducting preliminary data analyses (using both quantitative software and statistical packages), graphically representing data findings.

· Writing of reports.

 

Job Requirements:

· A master's degree in the social sciences and 2 years of experience is required.  Experience with statistical software such as SAS is a strong plus. Qualified candidates must have strong computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; be detail-oriented; and work well in a fast-paced team environment. Some travel may be needed.
