Job Type: Full-Time Location: 2100 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington *METRO-accessible*, Virginia       Arlington County's Department of Technology Services (DTS) has a challenging opportunity for an Information Management Analyst to assist in electronic data management of the County's records. This employee will partner with all county departments and agencies by designing and implementing a wide range of programs to support a network of personnel responsible for information governance throughout Arlington County. They will assist and advise departments in the application of technology solutions to support electronic data management, full lifecycle management, archiving, disposal, and retrieval.

Duties include: 
  • Leveraging electronic discovery, records management and data analysis related business solutions to support department and county initiatives and programs;
  • Facilitating the creation of best practices for information management to ensure compliance with the federal and state regulations such as Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) regarding reporting, digitization, storage, retention and appropriate destruction of records, electronic discovery, and data tracking analysis;
  • Managing communications, and designing and implementing training and education programs on information management policies and procedures; and
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and collaborating with departmental records administrators, Office of County Attorney, FOIA Office, IT Security practice areas, and information management staff.
The ideal candidate will be experienced with SharePoint or similar Enterprise Content Management systems, coordinating records management, and electronic discovery and data tracking operations. They will be adept at using automated system and electronic or digitization solutions in management, cataloging, storage and retrieval of documents and data, generating reports from the system, and analyzing the data.
 Selection Criteria: Minimum: Two or four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field PLUS some experience in records, information management or electronic discovery including communications initiatives or training. 

Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
  • Possession of a records management or electronic discovery certificate (i.e, CRM, ARMA, AIIM, or similar);
  • Experience using archival, enterprise content management systems or electronic discovery solutions such as OnBase, SharePoint and NUIX; and/or
  • Project management experience related to records management, data management, or electronic discovery.

 Additional Information: Work Hours: This is a 40 hour per week position, with work hours generally Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible work schedules and telework available with prior supervisor approval.

This position is part of a broad band, competency based pay-for-performance program.  The work assigned to positions in this class spans entry through journey IT work.  Persons assigned to this class are hired into the appropriate level and pay commensurate with their education and experience.  Pay potential will be based on performance and employee development.
