Marketing & Communications Fellowship


The U.S. Soccer Foundation seeks an energetic and hardworking Marketing & Communications fellow to join its team. The individual selected will work primarily with the Marketing & Communications team, but will also have the opportunity to work with the Programs, Philanthropy, and Operations teams as well.


The U.S. Soccer Foundation helps young people embrace an active and healthy lifestyle and cultivate critical life skills through soccer. The Foundation’s programs are the national model for sports-based youth development in underserved communities. Since its founding in 1994, the Foundation has impacted more than millions of children through its cost-effective, high-impact initiatives, which offer safe environments where kids and communities thrive.   • Create fact-sheets, brochures and other collateral for the Foundation
  • Draft content for the website and digital communications around the Foundation’s program and corporate partners
  • Draft press releases and other content around the Foundation’s grant announcements
  • Assist the Foundation’s marketing & communications team around events
  • Work with program partners and Foundation team members to develop materials about the programs
  • Draft content and create a social media calendar for the Foundation’s social media channels
  • Provide marketing support to the development team throughout fundraising campaigns and efforts
  • Support the Marketing & Communications team on Foundation outreach and ad hoc projects


  • Work experience and coursework in at least one of the following areas: public relations, communications, marketing and/or writing
  • Candidates must have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic, as well as the ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask and prioritize
  • Strong oral and writing skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Solid commitment to bettering the lives of children through exercise and sports
  • Ability to think critically and analytically
  • Possess a positive attitude and model a mature and professional demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, managing informational systems, and database processes
  • Bachelor's degree
