Job Description:
Sentara Fort Norfolk Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Manager to work full time, 1st shift.

Top candidates will hold a Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences and hold current certification with AMT or ASCP. Candidates will have 5 years of prior experience in the laboratory and prior experience in leadership.

Our qualified candidate will have proven experience in Quality activities with demonstrated outcomes preferred. Candidates should have experience in Quality monitoring, leading quality initiatives, participating or leading regulatory inspections teams, and be a good team facilitator/leader.

Assumes responsibility and accountability for laboratory operations within a Sentara facility. Responsible for the delivery of high quality services that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Analyzes patient data and suggests physician protocol for confirming patient diagnosis; acts as a consultant to pathologists, physicians and other team members; identifies needs and implements training to ensure competency of laboratory staff. Coordinates the development and implementation of new lab services within the Sentara facility. Contributes to the success of the organization through achievement of system, hospital and departmental goals and objectives.

Required: Histocompatibility - 5 years, Laboratory Leadership - 5 years

Bachelor's Degree in the Sciences acceptable. Five (5) years' of Histocompatibility experience and CHT or CHS certification only required within the Transplant Immunology Lab. Education, experience and certification must be acquired within the specific discipline of the department in which one is applying.
