The George Mason University Office of Graduate Education within the Office of the Provost seeks a full-time Director for Graduate Academic and Student Affairs. Responsibilities: The responsibilities associated with this position are as follows: * Provide administrative oversight and organizational and management support for all functions associated with the Office of Graduate Education; * Provide leadership and oversight to a team of direct reports, faculty fellows and graduate assistants on all issues related to graduate student affairs, fellowships/scholarships, travel awards, health insurance, research involving graduate education, and program coordination with Masons academic units; * Manage the graduate student appeals process and requests for exception to university policy; * Leads diversity and inclusion initiatives of the Office of Graduate Education. This includes oversight, management and coordination of the Diversity and Inclusion Fellowship Program; * Serve as the liaison between the Office of Graduate Student Life and the Office of Graduate Education; and * Work closely with the Director of Graduate Student Life to achieve university goals regarding student active learning and well-being.

Required Qualifications: * Masters degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Substantial experience working in higher education; * Supervisory experience; * Excellent knowledge of basic computer applications, Ellucian Banner, and CRM systems; * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; * Excellent interpersonal skills; * Ability to manage change effectively and collaborate with other university offices; * Well-organized and detail-oriented; and * Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours with ability to multiprioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualification: * Five to seven years working in a higher education environment.
