HVAC Operations Mechanic III
Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks experienced HVAC mechanics to install, service, maintain and repair commercial HVAC equipment and associated distribution systems on campus.
QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED; a valid Maryland Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, with fewer than six points; and have a
minimum of 6 years related HVAC experience for an HVAC Mechanic II, and a minimum of 8 years related HVAC experience for an HVAC Mechanic III. Levels 1 & 2 CFC certification is required for the HVAC Mechanic II position; Universal CFC certification is required for the HVAC
Mechanic III position.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary range is $49,951-$59,941 for the HVAC Mechanic II and $53,414- $64,097 for the HVAC Mechanic III based on qualifications and experience. Positions are Essential and subject to 24-hour/day, 7-day/week span of operation. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system. Starting leave benefits include: 11 days of accrued annual leave, 3 personal days, 15 sick days accrued, and 14 paid holidays per year (15 in a year of a general or Congressional election, includes end of year break).
