We have a tech-savvy base of approx. 240 internal users & thousands of external users who rely daily on the IT services built and maintained by IMS. As a Systems Administrator (Entry-Level), you will:

  • Build and maintain system software on servers & networking components
  • Perform routine Linux administration & maintenance
  • Perform initial troubleshooting steps to assist in the resolution of issues
  • Assist in vendor selection for technical components
  • Prepare documentation for infrastructure components (e.g. installation & change control)
  • Assist with back-up & recovery & archiving data
  • Assist with other IT infrastructure-related functions as needed

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • BS/BA from a U.S. DOE accredited institution in IT, Math, or related field
  • 0-3 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency w/Linux & TCP/IP networking
  • Familiarity w/at least 1 programming language (e.g. Java, Bash, Python, Perl)
  • Experience w/git & configuration management tools (e.g. Puppet, Chef) a plus
  • Demonstrated strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to relay technical information to clients & users in layman terms
  • Demonstrated strong analytic & problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail & organization skills
  • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, & work w/in a team
  • Strong presentation skills preferred
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a Level 5 Public trust security clearance
