PATIENT ACCOUNT REPRESENTATIVE - Credit Balance Unit
Sentara Healthcare is seeking a diligent Patient Account Representative to support the Battlefield Corporate Center in Chesapeake, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient accounting from billing to payment to include follow-up, refunds, billing, overpayments and more.
To be successful in this role the selected candidate will:
*Effectively coordinate and maintain credit balance accounts.
*Ensure insurance and patient overpayments are accurately refunded in a timely manner. *Review each patient's account, identify the credit and contact the necessary insurance carriers or patient for verification of insurance carrier or status of payment on the claim.
*Perform billing, follow up and customer service functions, fields patient inquiries and manages accounts receivable to achieve AR goals.
*Demonstrate the ability to handle difficult situations while maintaining quality customer service.
Hours are: Monday -Friday 8am-4:30pm
The employee is responsible for the following in assigned areas: billing for medium and low dollar claims, daily reconciliation, registration, auditing, and collection of information. Responds to phone inquiries and follows up to obtain information requested.
High School Grad or Equivalent
