Senior Engineer III (Architect/Engineer BDCD - PPB)
Provides project management on a variety of complex and high profile building development and public private partnership projects in Capital Facilities, including feasibility studies, master planning, and programming studies as part of development process. Negotiates and manages professional architectural and engineering design contracts, project development process from project conception to project closeout and turn over to occupancy, and project budget and schedule. Reviews design plans and specifications for compliance with approved program, budget, and schedule as well as scope of development agreements; and coordinates with stakeholders and using agency to incorporate requirements into the design of the development projects. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and self-sufficient; possess the skills necessary to work in a fast-paced collaborative team environment, and oriented toward providing outstanding customer service to end users and project stakeholders.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to: graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural field; and four years of progressively responsible professional experience in the appropriate engineering field.
Progressive project management experience including planning, development and management of budget and schedule, site assessment and coordination of land acquisition, consultant selection, negotiations and contract management, and oversight of design, quality control, and construction administration. Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience with both public and internal presentations to various audiences. Knowledge of local, federal, and state building and site development codes, and knowledge of entitlement, land use and permitting process. Information technology skills including use of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project. Proven experience in collaboration and teambuilding with various groups. Experience with financial and budgetary planning at the project and program level. Experience with quality assurance, value engineering, sustainable development, and safety training and awareness.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Possession of a valid Virginia professional engineer or architect license. An individual who possesses a valid professional engineer or architect license in another state will be granted a temporary exemption to this requirement pending the Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers & Landscape Architects decision regarding that individual's application for reciprocity.
A valid driver's license is required.
